There are numerous benefits to intermittent fasting beyond weight loss. Some people start fasting to lose weight but soon realize how much better they look and feel especially when they see improvements in their health. Improvements in health include lower triglycerides, lower blood pressure, reduced inflammation, better control of blood sugar, and fat loss.

If you’re new to intermittent fasting start off easy by skipping a meal or two whenever you can. Once you’re comfortable with that, try the most popular approach which is called 16:8 when you fast for 16 hours and then take in all your calories within an 8-hour eating window. Do this intermittently a few days a week.
